Terms
True North Nav Outdoors · last updated October 15, 2026These terms cover your use of True North Nav Outdoors ("True North", "the app"). By using the app you agree to them.
Not the law, and not a guarantee
- Season dates, WMU boundaries, land status, road closures and camping rules in the app are copied from public sources and can be wrong, out of date or incomplete. Always check the current Ontario Hunting Regulations Summary, licences and tags, and local rules before you hunt or camp. You are responsible for hunting and camping legally.
- Crown land on the map isn't automatically open to hunting or camping. Leases, mining claims, posted areas, firearm discharge bylaws, fire bans and other rules can apply. Private land needs the owner's permission; First Nations land needs the community's.
- Hotzones, camp and campsite suggestions, paths and forecasts are predictions from habitat rules of thumb. They show ground worth scouting, not where animals are or that a place is safe or passable.
- Don't rely on the app alone to find your way. Carry a map, compass and a charged phone, tell someone your plans, and know the conditions.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account. You can delete it at any time from the Account tab.
Paid plans
- Pro (and Ultra, when it's offered) are subscriptions billed monthly or yearly through Stripe at the price shown when you buy, plus any tax that applies. They renew automatically until you cancel.
- Cancel any time from the Account tab ("Change or cancel your plan"). You keep the plan until the end of the period you've paid for. We don't give refunds for part of a period, except where the law requires it.
- We may change prices; a new price applies from your next renewal after we've told you.
- Features on each plan can change as map and data providers change their terms. If something you pay for is removed, we'll tell you and you can cancel.
Fair use
- Don't use the app to break the law, harass people, or get onto land you don't have the right to be on.
- Don't scrape, bulk-download or resell the maps or data, or try to get around plan limits or security.
- Map and data sources keep their own licences and attributions (shown on the map). Ontario data is under the Open Government Licence – Ontario.
Your stuff
What you save and share is yours. You give us only the permission we need to store, sync and show it back to you.
Liability
The app is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses from using it or relying on it, including fines, lost hunts, getting lost or injury. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived.
Changes and ending
We may update these terms; we'll tell you in the app when a change matters. We may suspend accounts that break these terms. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and Canada.
